A trio of individually named Tiger curtainsiders joins SYNETIQ’s green fleet

SYNETIQ, the UK’s largest salvage and vehicle recycling company, has taken delivery of three tri axle straight frame curtainsiders manufactured by Tiger Trailers, whose purpose-built factory is situated nearby the Doncaster-headquartered customer’s site on Winsford Industrial Estate in Cheshire.

The trio of 4.5m curtainsided trailers feature galvanised chassis meeting the EN 12642 XL European load containment standard and are based on Tiger Trailers’ proven standard package spanning BPW axles, Aspoeck electrical systems, Haldex brakes and Granning landing legs.

SYNETIQ’s new curtainsider trailers are externally distinct because each sports an individual digital print livery from WJ Leech, which includes a unique name aligned with the customer’s renowned sustainability activities and objectives.

In March, the company ran a social media campaign inviting name suggestions for its new trailers, and the three curtainsiders eventually rolled off Tiger’s production line named Rhys Cycler, Steve McGreen and Sue Stainable, with SYNETIQ keen for its fans to spot and photograph them on the open road – which is something Tiger would also welcome for its #TagATiger gallery and social media.

The trio of Tiger-built curtainsided trailers for SYNETIQ are mainly operated in conjunction with DAF truck tractor cab units and operate between the firm’s nationwide locations and its respective client base that, like Tiger’s, contains many household names across logistics and other corners of the automotive sector.

Thomas Stott, Tiger Trailers’ Technical Sales Manager, comments: “We’re very pleased to welcome SYNETIQ on board as new customers, as a brand our staff recognise due to the firm’s strong presence in our local area. The entire process from finalising design requirements through to delivery and collection has been an enjoyable experience. We will keep our eyes out for SYNETIQ’s new Tiger Trailers curtainsiders on the road and look forward to hopefully manufacturing additional assets for them in the near future, no doubt sporting equally clever names.”

Tiger Trailers was delighted to see one of its three new curtainsiders, Steve McGreen, posed behind SYNETIQ’s new Mercedes Benz e-Sprinter electric van named St-EV Wonder, which was unveiled on World Environment Day along with the installation of Rolec EV charging points at its main site in South Yorkshire, contributing to the firm’s new internal sustainability initiative entitled ‘The Road to Tomorrow.’

SYNETIQ is a new company, launched in 2019 with 200+ years of combined experience, and now employs around 600 people throughout the UK, with hundreds of thousands of components in stock including green parts, which are a major constituent of the firm’s ethos. Its HGV fleet includes around 100 car transporter trailers.

Tiger Trailers and SYNETIQ are both members of the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), and the latter is also a member of the BVRLA (British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association).

As one of the UK’s leading HGV trailer manufacturers, Tiger Trailers’ partnership with Spanish counterpart Lecitrailer enables it to offer customers comparatively attractive production lead times. Its product range now includes Tiger Siberian temperature-controlled solutions, and its services have been expanded through Tiger Finance and Tiger Rentals. The manufacturer’s Road Transport hub discusses sector topics such as electric trucks and the driver shortage.
