“This is one of the biggest announcements we will ever make!”, the message says that greets visitors to the website of Browns Distribution, the leading Staffordshire-based distribution, warehousing and fulfilment specialists.
For the last two years, the firm that was established in 1955 has kept secret its £8m investment that will see it move just 300 metres from its existing site but exponentially increase its warehouse space capacity to 75,000 sq. ft. while creating at least 15 initial new career opportunities for its local area – and the operator has placed its trust in Tiger Trailers to strengthen its trailer fleet at this key phase in its history.
Ahead of Browns Distribution’s new facility opening in late summer 2022, new Tiger-built curtainsided tri-axle trailers have joined its fleet, specified to the manufacturer’s popular and trusted design that incorporates several galvanised and EN 12642 XL-rated elements delivering durability and safety. Key components include Jost landing legs, Haldex brakes, SAF axles, Aspoeck lights and premium brand tyres.
Paul Handley, Fleet Engineering Manager at Browns Distribution, says: “We’re very pleased with our new trailers from Tiger, which are the result of our teams working closely together to achieve a new option for our fleet. The trailers’ slick design and versatility signify an innovative step forwards and we’re delighted that they carry our new branding elements and messaging, early 2022 galvanising the customer relationship in an unprecedented way. Thanks again to Tiger Trailers’ team.”
Browns Distribution has placed a further order with Tiger for ten additional curtainsider trailers for build and delivery in 2023. The customer is cared for by Tiger’s Technical Sales Manager, Thomas Stott, who grew up and still lives nearby to the operator’s base, bringing an extra element of local pride to the contract.
He comments: “It’s superb to see a logistics company from my home town expanding so consistently quickly, pointing to its customer-focussed ethos, which we share here at Tiger. It’s been great working with their team, and we’re delighted that they have opted for Tiger trailers to broaden their fleet both this year and next. A big thanks to everyone involved and we’re looking forward to seeing Browns’ Tiger trailers on the road.”
