A leading global tyre manufacturer, Continental, has once again chosen Tiger Trailers as it further strengthens its UK articulated fleet, this time through the arrival of seven additional box van semi-trailers.
Continental’s first Tiger order for 2023 was split across two different product variants to suit its operational requirements – five 4.2m tall box van trailers for the firm’s next-day regional truck tyre delivery and casing collection operations, and two 4.8m tall ‘high cube’ variants that provide the tyre OEM with the increased load capacity it requires for its inter-depot trunking and waste recycling activities.

The bespoke, customer-tailored specification of Continental’s new trailers includes:
- GRP translucent roof with wooden rub rails
- bespoke load securing setup including nets
- 1,500kg tuckaway Anteo tail-lift with safety gates
- solar panels from Trailar.
- LED rear work lights for operator safety (4.2m)
- Side infills with cyclist warning messaging (4.2m)
- full aerodynamic sideguards to reduce CO2 and increase fuel efficiency (4.8m high cubes)
- full-coverage overlay floor tread plates (4.8m)
- full-length wooden rub rails fitted below and above each load lock row (4.8m)
- Continental’s in-house tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS)
- ContiConnect 2.0 web-based platform for safety and efficiency

In 2016, Continental acquired Bandvulc, a tyre re-tread manufacturer, and Tiger’s first trailers for the group in 2020 were finished in the division’s iconic black livery with yellow logo. Just like the firm’s previous repeat order in 2022, the latest Tiger-built trailers for 2023 wear Continental’s ultra-distinctive yellow livery with black logo and were collected by a duo of the group’s new MAN TGX 26.510 tractors from Bandvulc’s Ivybridge Plant in Devon. Continental’s UK HGV fleet connects a number of strategic sites including its regional distribution centre (RDC) in Rugby, which stocks passenger car, truck and specialty tyres.
