Hiren Bakhda, a Director of Tiger Trailers from the very beginning in 2014, has retired after a long and successful career, more than half of which was in the commercial vehicle sector. Hiren made a significant contribution to Tiger’s growth and became a valued colleague and friend to many around the business, who all wish him well in his retirement.
Hiren worked closely with John and Steven Cartwright and other family members and colleagues for many years before they became #TeamTiger. Coming from a financial background, Hiren’s main role at Tiger began in leasing and finance for customers. It later expanded to include the procurement of steel, tyres and other crucial components, along with insurance and pensions. The key to this was the excellent relationships that he developed and managed with suppliers, banks and others.
As Tiger Trailers’ Commercial Director, his experience was very valuable right up to his retirement. Hiren’s early career included working for furniture, plant hire and double glazing firms. He then joined Derbyshire County Cricket Club as Senior Accountant, where he had an interesting few years in the world of first class cricket. Hiren later worked for two other firms in the trailer manufacturing sector, before joining Tiger.
Hiren lives in Knutsford and is looking forward to spending more time with his family in the UK, America and other parts of the world, and with his partner, Ruth, He is also excited about getting a guide dog soon.
He comments: “I have been here since day one and obviously it is a sad day for me. Tiger Trailers has made remarkable progress since 2014 as a start-up business. I feel very lucky and proud to have been part of this success story. Today, Tiger is a significant player in the market and I think there will be no stopping the company. It is impressive to see such a young team (me included!) that is ambitious. I have no doubt that the goals set will be achieved. It has been a privilege to work with you, and I wish you all the success that you deserve. I would also like to thank all of you for being so sensitive about my personal circumstances. Everyone has been so helpful throughout my time in the company. I would love to keep in touch.”
