Compare Electric Truck Tractor Units
for the UK market
Building artic’ trailers for the transport sector, we absolutely love trucks, and all the hype is currently around fully electric tractor cab units, whether you call them e-trucks, BEV trucks, EV trucks or whatever else. There are so many stats flying around out there on…

…battery pack sizes, charging times, and range, so we thought we’d do our best to curate and maintain comparison tables so that road transport fleet operators can more easily compare the all-electric truck tractor units currently and soon available for the UK market, from the Mercedes-Benz Trucks (now Daimler Truck UK) eActros 600 and Volvo FH Electric, to the forthcoming DAF XF Electric, plus all the main electric rigid truck chassis out there. As a little disclaimer, our electric truck comparison tool isn’t perfect and not all the data will be accurate, partly because manufacturers themselves don’t always publish precise data, so please use it on an E&EO basis. Although you shouldn’t make your absolute final decisions based on this page, we’re truck geeks, though, and will try our best to keep it up to date and as accurate as possible – and we’ve converted kilometres to miles, to make it as easily digestible for UK haulage and logistics operators as possible.
COMPARING ELECTRIC (ZERO-EMISSIONS) TRUCKS & RIGIDS
We want our electric tractor cab and electric HGV chassis comparison table to be one of the most realistic tools out there for UK road transport, haulage and logistics operator fleets, so…

* ignoring, for example MAN Truck & Bus UK quoting that the eTGX articulated tractor offers a realistic UK range of 800km (497 miles – just shy of 500) per day, as this includes a 45-minute driver break for charging. Our experience in driving electric cars has shown that public EV chargers at service stations are often broken or full with other vehicles, so it’s more realistic for road transport fleet operators and traffic planners to work on the basis that the driver won’t necessarily be able to find a charger, successfully connect, pay, start and complete partial charging within the required rest break in relation to driver hours.
We want this page to be a kind of wiki, so if you represent a truck manufacturer and would like us to correct any of the figures quoted in our electric tractor comparison tool, just ask us nicely and we’ll happily make the information up to date as soon as we can.
