Tiger Trailers has expanded its team with the appointment of a new Technical Sales Manager, who joins the company with eight years of industry experience and a passion for commercial vehicles and manufacturing.
Tom Stott, 24, began his career as an apprentice aged 16, joining the Cartwright Group on the production line, before moving up to become a Production Planner. After progressing into an aftersales and warranty role at Cartwright, he took on his first sales position in January 2017, as National Sales Representative – Truck Bodies at Schmitz Cargobull.
Offering unprecedented experience for such a young age, Stott’s valuable skills in trailer and truck body engineering, production, aftersales care and sales make him the perfect candidate to join Tiger’s rapidly growing team.
Commenting on his appointment, Stott says: “Like many people, I’ve been watching the rapid growth of the Tiger Trailers brand and when the chance arose to be part of the team, I jumped at the opportunity. This is a dynamic, forward-thinking company which is very quickly becoming one of the industry’s major players; it’s incredibly exciting to have been selected to take on this new role.”
Stott will report directly to Darren Holland, Sales Director, with a remit spanning the full Tiger Trailers product line-up, including dry freight single and double-deck trailers, truck bodies and the company’s latest offering – its Tiger Deck loading solution for double-deck trailers.
Discussing his role with Tiger, he adds: “When the new purpose-built factory opens next year, Tiger will have world-class production facilities which will put it in an even stronger position than currently. That’s a fantastic sales proposition to be taking to the market; and it’s an opportunity which was literally too good to turn down.”
Outside of work, Stott dedicates much of his time to helping the charity Support our Paras, raising money for the cause in a range of interesting and challenging ways – most recently, in November 2017, by flipping an 85kg tractor tyre up mount Snowdon!
