What is your role at Tiger?

As PR & Marketing Manager, I look after all marketing, public relations, and communications. This includes the website, the big books, tigertogether newsletters and other publications, social media, press releases and case studies usually involving customers, Tiger’s videos, documents, posters and other marketing materials, exhibitions, internal communications, and photography.

Tell us about your background?

I’m 40 next spring and after studying a music production and marketing HND at Leeds College of Music, I set up a business in 2002 involved in web development and SEO (search engine optimisation), and a live music agency providing acts for private and corporate events, and session musicians for touring bands. Based in Leeds city centre, our clients included Allianz Insurance, ASDA, Marks & Spencer, and the University of York, and the team included seven people. The second chapter in my previous career was spent from 2012 as an automotive journalist and writer, test-drivingand photographing press fleet cars, writing articles for magazines and websites, attending UK and international new car launches plus events at places like Millbrook with the SMMT, and working in marketing for companies including WarrantyWise, BMW, telematics firm Trak Global (now IMS), and a car leasing group.

What is your favourite thing about working at Tiger?

The variety, as every day is different involving new projects, challenges and people. It can be exciting working with customers on PR and case studies, collaborating with
colleagues on focusses like the videos and internal comms, helping to make the Tiger Safety Team a reality, and working with local organisations to really make a difference to people.

What do you like doing outside work?

In the evening after dinner I watch an episode of TV (usually something international with subtitles) and then read for a while. At the weekend I normally go for a walk or a run, as I love exercise and nature, and I like finding new pubs and restaurants for meals and drinks with friends and family. Every few months, I try to see a comedy show or a live band, and I enjoy visiting National Trust sites and going to food festivals.
