The combined footprint of Poundland and its Dealz brand in the Republic of Ireland comprises 4 distribution centres and over 900 stores serving more than 7 million customers each week. Discount retailers run streamlined operations and for its latest Box Van fleet additions, Poundland turned to Tiger Trailers, a manufacturer it knew would deliver.
Poundland’s fleet plays a key role in keeping shelves stocked and families provided for, and the retailer chose Tiger Trailers based partly on the manufacturer’s reputation for long-lasting solutions that prove efficient to operate and maintain - attributes reflected in the new Box Van trailers delivered for the customer. Poundland’s tri-axle Box Van trailers feature galvanised chassis to maximise longevity while reducing whole life refurbishment costs.
Additional components incorporated with minimising damage and subsequent costs in mind include nylon side rave inserts and reinforced rear frames on the outside, complemented by enhanced internal load restraints and protection on the inside of the trailers. Side guard inserts were specified in order to boost awareness and safety for those in the vicinity of the vehicle, from pedestrians to other road users including cyclists. A Dhollandia tail-lift with an integral underrun, Ecopoint rear lights, a tailored shunt facility, a rear roll-cage retention strap, Knorr Bremse EBS braking system and a side valance with rear standard spray suppression set at ferry operating height completed Poundland’s striking Box Van assets from Tiger Trailers.
“We’re delighted to have delivered these eye-catching Box Vans for such a well-known retailer. The customer’s very specific brief that placed a core emphasis on durability enabled our design and engineering team to demonstrate their expertise.”
