Cheryl Jones
Aftersales Support Leader // Aftersales team
What’s your background?
I started in this industry at RACCA (RAC Commercial) in 2004 as a part-time call-taker, progressing to night-shift manager, and then joined DHL as Transport Supervisor in 2007, before returning to RACCA in 2010, full-time. The next year, I began my journey in the trailer manufacturing sector, with Schmitz Cargobull, working up to aftersales Support/Office Manager & UK Credit Controller. In 2015 I joined Veolia, travelling the north of England and Northern Ireland managing the Asda account, before becoming Specialist Admin Manager. In 2018, I took a role as Depot Manager at SMH Fleet Solutions (now Cazoo) and proudly we hit targets 96.9% of the time. Redundancy led me back to trailers, joining Cartwright in 2019 as Aftersales Support Co-ordinator, and I’m proud that we hugely reduced the warranty spend. When Cartwright closed, Carrier Transicold quickly offered me a role as Senior Customer Support Specialist managing accounts including Tiger, SCB, G&A’s four depots, Dawsons, Asset Alliance, Prohire, and Petite Forristier’s international depots.
What do you like about working at Tiger?
Everyone here is helpful and supportive. There is a real sense of belonging and I feel valued. I am trusted to do the right thing by the business and by customers, and my ideas are always listened to. All of TeamTiger are really friendly – and let’s not forget Ray’s bakes! (free cake on Fridays)
What do you like doing outside work?
During the winter months I go to one of my caravans in Eyemouth as often as I can – it’s my little happy place! I spend most of my ‘down time’ with my kids and grandsons – they are my life. I’m a huge fan of Man Utd and Warrington Wolves and usually go to every home game.
What is your main life achievement?
My children, for sure (two sons, one daughter) aged 22, 23 & 24!
Tell us some more about Cheryl…
I have two cats, Lola and Tinka, who hate each other for some reason. I have spoken to Camilla (Queen Consort) when she was ‘Parker Bowles’, and she was very nice, and I have spoken to Chris Tarrant who wasn’t! I’ve done a parachute jump (it was amazing!) and have also raised about £5,000 for charity through a 17k walk, and 5k everyday for a month. I love murdering songs on karaoke, and my favourite drink is dark rum/Prosecco.
Tell us about your Tiger career progression…
In September 2021 my journey with Tiger began as aftersales support coordinator. I can honestly say I have never looked back. I really love my job. I am really passionate that we provide an amazing aftercare experience for our customers. I am supported well by the management team and feel that the aftercare team is in a much better place now than when I arrived and I’m extremely proud to be part of the growth.
