Tiger bakes additional articulated box van trailers for Sheldon’s
Sheldon’s Family Bakery, iconic northern purveyor of all things scrumptious from hot cross buns and various rolls to potato cakes and muffins, has ordered a fresh batch of articulated HGV box van trailers from fellow north west manufacturer, Tiger Trailers, to feed its increasing list of supermarket stockists.
The trio of tandem-axle, straight-frame van trailers that have rolled out of Tiger Trailers’ oven are equipped with wide-lathe rear shutter doors, Dhollandia tail-lifts, Aspoeck Europoint III LED lights, pull-out ladders and various hardware focussed on providing durability and protection for operating in urban areas and restricted yard spaces.
Sporting fleet numbers GHS015, GHS016 and GHS017, the new Tiger-built box vans for Sheldon’s Family Bakery are finished in the business’ distinctive Mason Cream colour and logo and will play a role in delivering bread and other items to customers including Aldi, ASDA, Morrisons and Tesco supermarkets.
Started by Harold Sheldon in 1949, the family has expanded, collaborated, and innovated ever since, and from the early days of distribution with its now-vintage van named Bertha, Sheldon’s ran 8 HGVs by 2000, before introducing its first articulated truck in 2008, and now operates two sites, having become one of the best-loved bakeries in the country.
“It’s great to work with such an iconic name, plenty of whose products will have been devoured by #TeamTiger members over the years, and it has been a pleasure to assist their team in designing and manufacturing Sheldon’s new box van trailers to meet their operational needs. The evocative livery looks very smart, and we look forward to supporting their growing needs as a customer over the coming months and years” comments Thomas Stott, Tiger Trailers’ technical sales manager.
