Four top-performing apprentices at Tiger Trailers have been recognised for their hard work, positive attitude and impressive college results throughout 2017, winning an Alan Cartwright Foundation Apprentice Award.
Ben Glavin (Year 1), Callum Whitby (Year 2), Cole Graham (Year 3) and Ryan Dickens (Final year) were each presented with a share of a £900 prize fund in recognition of their outstanding efforts.
The Alan Cartwright Foundation Apprentice Awards were launched in 2016 by Joint Managing Directors John and Steven Cartwright, in memory of their late father – who throughout his career was passionate about bringing apprentices into the industry.
John Cartwright says: “In an industry where apprentices and skilled technicians are in short supply, we’re lucky to have a hugely capable pool of talent learning manufacturing the Tiger way, alongside our experienced team. We’ve worked closely with Warrington & Vale Royal College to tailor a programme which provides a fantastic career opportunity. Selecting this year’s winners was a very tough decision.”
The 2017 Apprenticeship Awards saw Callum Whitby rewarded for the second time in succession, following a fantastic performance during the start of his second-year apprenticeship. “Callum has gone the extra mile throughout the year, receiving first class reviews from his mentors, supervisors and college tutors. We’re delighted he’s chosen to be part of the Tiger Trailers team.”
Tiger Trailers has enrolled more than 30 apprentices into its programme since the company was founded in 2014. Its new factory, set to open in late 2018, will feature a dedicated training centre, providing Tiger with the opportunity to increase the number of apprentices it takes on each year, as well as adding to the range of skills and courses it offers.
The enhanced training facilities will support Tiger’s growth into the next decade, combining valuable opportunities for career development with the most modern trailer and bodybuilding manufacturing facility in the country.
